Upper Skagit Rafting Adventure: October 2nd, 2004
GO RAFTING - ENJOY NATURE - HELP KIDS IN NEED - FEEL GOOD

Join the staff at the Wild and Scenic Institute on October 2nd during our fall fundraising event. Your donation of $120 will be used to sponsor special needs students that participate in each our seasonal programs. Additionally it will help pay for costly expenses like transportation, insurance and recreational equipment. All proceeds will be used to ensure that FREE outdoor recreation and environmental education programs will continue to be offered to children, who due to their physical, cultural, or financial barriers would not otherwise have this opportunity.

This full day event begins at 10:00 AM in the town of Newhalem. All donors will enjoy a private showing of Return to Wilderness, a nature photography slide show that boasts the finest scenery of the North Cascades. During our visit to the National Park Visitors Center you can check out other interactive exhibits or observe the same WSI students you help sponsor as they scramble about the center during their pre-rafting scavenger hunt. Our rafting trip will begin at 12:00 and will include all the appropriate safety equipment, guides, shuttle and a mid day snack. After the river trip, dry off a get ready for a salmon barbeque complete with all the fixings and beer from a local brewery. There will also be a chance to win prizes including a night at Clark’s Cabins or dinner at Lombardi’s in Ballard during our raffle give away. Overnight camping for the Friday or Saturday night is available at Goodell Creek Campground, on a first come first serve basis.

The WSI is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Your donation is taxi deductible and will directly benefit disadvantaged kids. Because the WSI is run entirely by volunteers and has no paid staff, your donation will go towards programming and student enrollment.
